Loud rumbling Merapi, Refugees Moved to Safe Place
Mount Merapi in Yogyakarta, Magelang border continues to rumble. Recently a very loud rumbling sound, the refugees were relocated to a safer place.
Loud rumbling sound at around 23:40 pm from the main post Pakem, Sleman, Yogyakarta, on Thursday (11/04/2010). Vibration also feels quite hard felt from the main post Pakem which is about 20 Km from the peak of Merapi.

"very loud rumble like a goldfish is a large stone falling from the top of Merapi to the Ground," said one volunteer, told AFP.

Shortly after a loud rumbling and vibration, the sub-district head Pakem, Budiharjo, instructed the relocation camps. All residents who were displaced in the three districts immediately moved to a safer place.

"We have just received a letter from the Ministry of Energy and Mineral Resources in this matter of geological bodies. We're going to evacuate the displaced persons in three districts namely Sub Pakem, Turi and Cangkringan," said Budiharjo.

Budiharjo said, the refugees in the three districts will be relocated to a safer area. "Residents who evacuated in three districts that we will evacuate all of the Stadium District Maguwoharjo in Depok, Sleman," said Budiharjo.

Budiharjo said all teams will immediately move to relocate the refugees. Military and volunteer SAR teams combined together will make relocation. Currently, the team began to move into refugee camps.

According Budiharjo, refugee relocation done to avoid the clouds glide heat and cold lava flood that had led to the Ground.

"Anticipation avoid falling lava cool," he explained.
